Erected on 6 March 2012

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has erected the new Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Faridabdin the Region of Delhi and it was announced on 6th March, 2012.  Msgr. Kuriakose Bharanikulangara was appointed as the First Bishop of this new Eparchy of Faridabad. He was ordained as Archbishop on 26th May, 2012 at the Thyagaraja Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.  The Ordination was witnessed by more than 10,000 Strong audience comprising of Cardinals, Bishops, Priests,Religious Sisters, Central and State Ministers, Ambassadors, Diplomats, Political Big-wigs, Government officials Relatives and  people from the entire Diocese irrespective of cast and religion.  He was installed as the Bishop of Fardiabad on 27th May, 2012 at the Cristu Raja Cathedral Church, Faridabad.
